The festive period can be filled with excitement and joy, but it can also be an overwhelming time with various pressures and challenges. As we approach the end of another year, Lau Harp, a Psychotherapist at the Devon Wellbeing Hub, explains how we should use this time of year to reflect on all we have accomplished and practise some self-care to help us thrive.

Safeguarding

It is everyone’s responsibility to ensure the safety and wellbeing of the young and vulnerable people in society. Are you confident you would recognise the signs and signals that might indicate potential abuse or neglect? Would you know what action to take if you suspected abuse or neglect?

The minimum level of safeguarding training for pharmacy professionals (pharmacists, trainee pharmacists and pharmacy technicians) is level 2 for all areas of safeguarding. These areas are children and young people, looked after children, and adults.

Find out more on the CPPE Safeguarding Gateway page, including links to the e-LFH training and the NHS Safeguarding App and on our Community Pharmacy Devon safeguarding page.

NHS Smartcard Action Required

Please be aware that if your smartcard or role on your smartcard was set up a long time ago, you may need to update it to keep it working. NHS England and Community Pharmacy England recommend that pharmacy team members with NHS Smartcards visit the Community Pharmacy England Smartcard page to support ongoing use of their smartcards.
