Community Pharmacists Showcase Commitment at Sunday Morning Training Event

Community pharmacists demonstrated their unwavering commitment to patient care by dedicating their Sunday morning to training. Jointly hosted by Community Pharmacy Devon and CPPE, with kind sponsorship from Exeltis, the event was both informative and engaging. Following a welcome and ice breaker from Sian Retallick our South West CPPE tutor, local community pharmacist George Wickham kicked things off with a captivating presentation. Drawing from his real-life experiences George shared valuable hints and tips, resources, and emphasised the importance of making local connections and referral pathways.

The event included role play scenarios, providing a safe space for attendees to learn and reflect. Pharmacists were able to engage in practical exercises and discussions, enhancing their skills and knowledge in a supportive environment. The training session not only enriched the participants' professional development but also reinforced the importance to community pharmacists in delivering exceptional patient care. It's clear that the dedication of these healthcare professionals knows no bounds, even on a Sunday morning!

Incubator for Pharmacy Professionals

An NIHR-supported initiative dedicated to strengthening research capacity within the pharmacy profession. Despite its critical role as a pillar of professional practice, research remains an underrepresented area for pharmacy professionals. We’ve launched a nationwide survey to explore the challenges and identify solutions for pharmacy professionals engaging with research. This survey is open to all UK-registered pharmacists and pharmacy technicians across all sectors. Please forward this email to colleagues and share with professional networks. No research experience is needed, we want to hear from everyone. The survey will take approximately 15 minutes to complete and will close on the 17th February 2025.
