The Perceptions of Community Pharmacy Team Members in the Provision of Care to Cancer Patients: a Multi-National Study

Jackie Lewis, who many of you will know is a pharmacy owner in Exmouth with a special interest in cancer care and oncology, is running a survey for the whole pharmacy team to determine what training you would like to help with cancer care in your pharmacies. She has said that would be much appreciated if you could please take a few minutes to share your thoughts by clicking here.

Good News Story!

We have heard that the team at Boots in Brixham went "above and beyond expectations" when a patient had forgotten to order her vital medication in time. She had gone into the pharmacy to explain the situation and they were extremely helpful in contacting her surgery and obtaining her medications sooner. The prescription was processed promptly and a text sent to the patient to let them know their medication was ready to collect. The team also offered to check the patient's blood pressure and queried whether there was anything else that the patient needed.

The patient was extremely grateful to the whole team for the outstanding service she received and has since set reminders on her phone to prevent the same situation happening again!
