Consultation Structure and Note Taking for Pharmacy First

Looking to provide Pharmacy First services and want to make sure your consultation notes are up to standard to be included in a patient’s primary care health record? Want to develop your consultation skills to ensure you deliver structured pharmacy first interventions and get the history from patients you need? Then our upcoming Community Pharmacy Devon training evening is for you! Over the course of the evening we will ensure you have the tools to make high quality records of your pharmacy first consultations and discuss:

  • The clinical interview and consultation structures
  • Taking a comprehensive history
  • Documentation requirements
  • How to make excellent notes for addition to a patient’s medical record as part of Pharmacy First.

This is a re-run of a well received event delivered last year. Although this is targeted at pharmacists delivering pharmacy first consultations, all members of the pharmacy team are welcome to attend.

Support Smokers to Quit – Training Available for Pharmacies in Plymouth

Most pharmacies across Plymouth are already contracted to deliver the local Smoking Cessation Support Service – a vital role in helping residents quit smoking and improve their health. Not only is this service impactful, but it’s also reimbursable, offering a valuable opportunity for your pharmacy team.

To deliver the service, staff must complete the required smoking cessation training, to National Centre for Smoking Cessation and Training Level 3. We’re now coordinating upcoming training sessions, to be provided by Livewell Southwest’s Wellbeing Team and want to hear from you. We anticipate this will be during October.

Are you interested in providing this service?
Would your team prefer training during the day or in 2 separate evening sessions?

Let us know your preferences so we can schedule sessions that work for you. Your participation helps strengthen local public health and supports Plymouth’s smoke-free ambitions.

📩 To express interest, ask questions, and register timing preference please email: Livewell.OYP@nhs.net
