The University of Exeter’s MSc Advanced Clinical Practice Programme

The University of Exeter’s MSc Advanced Clinical Practice programme is designed to equip healthcare professionals with the advanced skills and knowledge needed to meet the growing demands of modern health services.

Delivered part-time over two to three years, the course offers flexible study options, including a degree apprenticeship route, allowing learners to balance professional and academic commitments.

The programme provides a strong academic foundation aligned with the Health Education England framework, supporting practitioners to expand their clinical roles and scope of practice. Students also benefit from teaching by specialist external practitioners and a faculty recognised by the Association of Advanced Practice Educators (AAPEUK).

Open to a wide range of healthcare professionals—including nurses, paramedics, pharmacists and allied health practitioners—the course supports career progression into advanced clinical roles while strengthening multidisciplinary practice.

Overall, the MSc offers a flexible and professionally aligned route for clinicians looking to advance their practice and contribute to the future of healthcare delivery.

GP Practice Emails Addresses and NHS Service Finder

Under the 2026/27 GP contract, GP practices must have a dedicated email address for community pharmacies to contact them on. This email address should be used when:

· GP Connect is unavailable

· A service without interoperability needs to send patient information

· A secure written communication route is required

Practices are not required to create a new mailbox. An existing shared mailbox meets the contractual requirement.

Pharmacies can find the correct dedicated GP practice email addresses here.

Reminder for Community Pharmacy Contractors: Amendment to Temporary Suspensions Approved Particular

Community pharmacy contractors are reminded that the reporting mechanism for temporary service suspensions will be changing from Monday 1 June.

Notifications must be made via the MYS platform from 1 June and manual notifications to ICBs will no longer be permitted (except in the very rare circumstances when the MYS platform is unavailable). The updated approved particulars will be available from 1 June on the NHS England website.

Diabetes Awareness Week: Supporting Early Detection and Better Health

Diabetes Awareness Week, taking place from 8–14 June 2026, provides an important opportunity for Health Champions and pharmacy teams to raise awareness of diabetes and promote early intervention. With millions of people in the UK living with the condition—and many more at risk—this campaign plays a vital role in improving long-term health outcomes.
Community pharmacies are often the first place people turn to for advice, making them ideally placed to support this campaign. Pharmacy teams can help by encouraging conversations about diabetes risk, highlighting early symptoms such as increased thirst, fatigue, and blurred vision, and signposting patients to NHS prevention and management services.
The week also offers an opportunity to reinforce the ongoing support pharmacies provide, including medicines advice, blood glucose monitoring guidance, and lifestyle support around diet, physical activity, and weight management.
By engaging with Diabetes Awareness Week, pharmacy teams can help reduce stigma, encourage earlier diagnosis, and empower individuals to take positive steps towards managing their health.
