Community Pharmacy Devon Weekly Dose đź’Š

Thursday 25th June 2026

Welcome to your weekly injection of local and national pharmacy news. As always, if you have any feedback or comments, please contact us by email at admin@cpdevon.org.uk.

Data Security Toolkit - Final Week to Finish it!

Community Pharmacy England is urging pharmacy owners to take action to finish and publish the Data Security and Protection Toolkit (DSPTK) for 2026 now and reminding them to make use of our resources to work through the process as efficiently as possible.

Completion is already underway again this year – it’s been completed at thousands of pharmacies.

The DSPTK submission is due by 30th June 2026 as part of a pharmacy’s annual information governance (IG) declaration, and many pharmacy owners are busy working towards completing this. It is a mandatory requirement under the NHS Terms of Service that demonstrates core information governance standards and maintains patient trust.

Pharmacy Quality Scheme (PQS)

A PQS will run in 2026/27, with fewer requirements than in previous years and a smaller budget. The new scheme retains some existing criteria and sees the addition of new criteria intended to support the safe introduction of prescribing into community pharmacy.

The scheme will commence in June and it will continue to be an optional part of the CPCF.

Pharmacy owners that choose to participate will be able to claim in July an Aspiration payment of 80% (up from 75% last year) of the overall points value they intend to claim. This Aspiration payment will be made on 1st September 2026.

Full guidance and resources will be made available as soon as possible on CPE's  PQS hub webpage.

Will the New CPCF Agreement Make a Difference? Have Your Say!

Tell CPE what the new CPCF deal means for your business

Calling all pharmacy owners across Devon! Please take part in Community Pharmacy England's latest sector poll.

The negotiator’s poll asks whether the settlement will help ease financial pressures, what challenges remain for pharmacy businesses, and what you think about the introduction of independent prescribing into community pharmacy services.

⏰ Deadline: 11.59pm on Sunday 12th July

Meningitis B Service Specification and Registration Information

Community Pharmacies have until 23.59 on 20 July 2026 to sign up to deliver the service using the registration form. Pharmacies must sign up by 6 July 2026 to be guaranteed vaccine supply for the start of the programme on 20 July 2026.  Due to this particular MenB programme being in place for a limited time, any registration received after the deadline will not be accepted and the Pharmacy contractor will not be able to provide the service (this includes any new owners following a change of ownership with a new ODS code after 20 July 2026).

The Item of Service fee is ÂŁ10.06 per administered vaccination to an eligible individual. Recognising the considerable effort it will take to stand up this new service and to maximise uptake, Community Pharmacies will also be eligible for additional payments of:

  • ÂŁ300 - if at least one vaccination is administered

AND

  • ÂŁ400 - if at least 100 vaccinations are administered

Service specifications can be found here.
