CPPE Contraception Workshop |
|
In March CPPE are holding a Contraception Workshop facilitated by Sian Retallick with guest speaker George Wickham. The aim of this programme will be to support you in shared decision making with people who are starting, restarting or changing contraception within the NHS Pharmacy Contraception Service (PCS). Training will be given on how to reach a shared decision on an appropriate formulation of contraception provided with the person using this service.
Scenarios based on those encountered in practice enable community pharmacy professionals to gain experience in the communication skills that they need to initiate contraception, within a safe learning environment.

2025 Stop Smoking Campaign |
|
Help your patients make 2025 the year that they quit smoking for good. Evidence has shown that smokers are three times more likely to stop successfully with support from a local stop smoking service than by trying to do it on willpower alone. The Department of Health & Social Care website has lots of free resources to download, including posters and social media assets, and the NHS website has as an app to help support people in their journey to give up smoking. |

NHS 10 Year Health Plan |
|
The NHS in Devon has launched local engagement around the 10 Year Health Plan, which will run in parallel with, and support, the national Change NHS campaign.
Between November 2024 and 28 February 2025 members of the public and patients in Devon, as well as NHS staff and healthcare experts, are being invited to share their experiences, views and ideas for improving the NHS.
People and staff are being encouraged to fill in the local survey even if they have already completed the national one. This is to ensure that insights from local people can be used to improve local services.
The 10 Year Health Plan will be published in Sprin 2025 and will be underlined by three big shifts in healthcare.

The Devon engagement is being supported by Healthwatch Devon, Plymouth and Torbay and voluntary organisations in Devon.

Original Pack Dispensing |
|
Training has been produced to support you with the delivery of the new Pharmacy Regulation allowing over or under dispensing to allow an original pack to be dispensed. It provides an overview to help all the community pharmacy team explain any changes to patients.
This online training is provided free of charge to all community pharmacies located in Devon. The training is currently funded by Community Pharmacy Devon to help pharmacy teams meet their requirement to deliver services and support health promotion activities throughout the year.
