Pre-registration Pharmacy Trainee Representatives
Expression of Interests are still open for becoming a PTPT representative, to submit your expression of interest please complete the Pre-registration Trainee Pharmacy Technician (PTPT) Representatives – Expression of Interest Form.
Please note that the deadline to complete this form has been extended to Friday 2nd October 2026, after this date the team will get back to you to discuss the next steps in the process.
There is a presentation that provides an overview of the PTPT Representative role, including the responsibilities involved and information about the current trainee representatives you would be working alongside as part of the team. Please feel free to get in touch if you would like to speak with any of the current representatives to learn more about the role and hear about their experiences so far.

What you would need to do:
- Gather feedback from other NHS commissioned PTPTs
- Analysis & prepare the feedback gathered from other PTPTs
- Attend & present the feedback at the SW PTPT Programme Board
- Represent different cohorts/topics e.g. split placements, EDI, assessment, mental health & wellbeing
- 4-6 weekly online catch up with each other, training programme facilitator will pop in to answer any questions
Consideration for the role include:
- Good understanding of the nature of the position and ‘take the personal’ out of the role
- You will be an autonomous representative
- The boundary of the concern is the trainee experience
- A duty to ensure patient safety is always a key concern
- This is a process role – not your responsibility to solve all issues
- You will not be a trained counsellor: suggest that the trainee takes the next steps, refer to the PTPT handbook on raising concerns and support resources e.g. careers/counselling, EPD, regional team etc.
The Workforce team is looking for two PTPTs from each Integrated Care System (ICS) across different cohorts, training programmes, education providers & pharmacy sectors to ensure equality, diversity & inclusion.
